Zoll E Series Monitor/Defibrillator
The Zoll E-Series Heart Monitor/Defibrillator is designed to withstand the crash, tumble, and bounce environment of EMS.
This Monitor includes all the latest upgrades in technology, including the ability to perform 12-Lead EKGs which will aid in the faster treatment of heart attacks. With advancements in technology, we will soon be doing 12-Lead EKGs and transferring them to the hospital via cell phones. This will allow the hospital to be better prepared with treatment for our cardiac patients.
Also included is monitoring capabilities for blood pressure, heart rate, O2 saturation, and CO2 monitoring.
This monitor allows us to use it as a heart monitor, a defibrillator, and a portable pacemaker. The E-series is built so that we can use it on either adult or pediatric patients.
With the addition of this monitor to our ambulances, we can now offer top of the line treatment for all patients in any condition. We are able to actively monitor and adapt our treatment to meet our patient’s best need.

Zoll Autopulse
The AutoPulse is a new tool for EMS providers to use for Sudden Cardiac Arrest Victims. The most important part of CPR is compressions. Normal compressions during CPR only provide 10 - 20% of normal blood flow to the heart and 30 - 40% to the brain.
The AutoPulse is battery operated and was created to allow EMS providers to supply compressions while continuing to provide other life-saving treatments. Also, the AutoPulse allows for compressions to be provided while the patient is being carried down steps or other areas.
The AutoPulse adjusts to fit each patient using the LifeBand. The LifeBand squeezes the chest compressing the heart and supplying the best possible blood flow to the body.
The AutoPulse delivers compressions without interruptions. According to Zoll Medical, it has been proven to improve the survival rate by 88% for Sudden Cardiac Arrest patients.
With the addition of the AutoPulse, Sudden Cardiac Arrest victims in Botetourt County now have a better chance of survival. CPR teaches that compressions are the MOST important part of CPR.
Fincastle Volunteer Rescue Squad is proud to be able to provide equipment like this to our residents. This would not have been possible without your support.
